The core business of Glow Group, GDF SUEZ’s Thai subsidiary, is the supply of power and steam. Glow Group is one of the major private power producers in Thailand. The company supplies energy (electricity and steam) to large industrial customers principally located in the Map Ta Phut, as well as to the EGAT (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand) national grid, under Thailand's IPP (Independent Power Producer) programs and SPP (Small Power Producer).

The company’s vision focuses on operational excellence and profitable growth in the IPP business in Thailand, cross-border IPP in Laos and Cambodia, as well as the cogeneration business in Thailand and the whole region. Growth potential in all segments of our business is very promising. Our latest committed expansion projects are located in Map Ta Phut, comprising the Gheco-One’s 660 MW IPP project and Glow Energy’s 382 MW and 115 MW cogeneration projects All these projects are currently under construction and will require total capital expenditure of around 1.8 billion USD. This value creating growth will increase Glow Group’s production capacity by more than 50% by the end of 2011.

Along with our continuing profitability and growth prospects, social and environmental responsibility has been part of our operations, ever since the construction of our first plant. Over the past 15 years, since the start of the company, we have organized social activities and supported community projects, enabling people in the plant vicinity to produce and acquire basic necessities, as well as improve their education and quality of life. The community programs undertaken by us included Mobile Clinic for health checks, Aquatic animal releasing and forest planting, English Camps and University Entrance Examination Tutor Program. As all our plants, our latest IPP project is environmentally friendly, using highly sophisticated supercritical technology with advanced emission control system and high fuel efficiency.
