Glow Energy PLC. CEO Brendan Wauters received certification from the Collective Action against Corruption (CAC) on behalf of its campaign from Dr. Kopr Kritayakirana Vice Chairman of CAC Council, in a ceremony at the Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel on May 30, 2016.
Mr. Wauters attended the ceremony along with representatives from other companies which were also eligible for CAC certificates in the first quarter of 2016 and the event was co-hosted by the Thai Institute of Directors, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Thai Bankers' Association, the International Chamber of Commerce, the Thai Listed Companies Association, the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations, the Federation of Thai Industries and the Tourism Council of Thailand.
“We believe the CAC is a very important initiative. We are therefore excited to join the growing number of leading Thai corporates who have obtained a certification by the CAC with respect to the effectiveness of the organization, policies and procedures they have in place to fight bribery and other forms of non-ethical behavior,” Mr. Wauters said.
CAC is a campaign in which private companies voluntarily participate. At present, 655 companies have declared their intentions to join CAC (336 companies being listed companies) while the number of certified companies increased from 152 to 168 companies as of January 2016.
The receiving of CAC certificate accentuates the joint force of the Thai private sector in the battle against corruption and exemplifies the concrete implementation of the policy against corruption in practice.
