Glow Energy and Continental Automotive Sign Power Purchase Agreement for Rooftop Solar

Bangkok/Rayong - Glow Energy Plc (Glow) and Continental Automotive (Thailand) Co., Ltd. have signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for a rooftop solar system at Continental’s factory in Amata City Industrial Estate, Rayong Province.

The rooftop solar system has an installed capacity of approximately 1 MWp and will comprise over 3,000 polycrystalline silicon panels covering a roof area of 8,500 sq.m. The installation works on site will commence in end of May 2018.

Brendan Wauters, CEO of Glow, commented: “We believe that there is substantial potential for Glow to provide renewable energy solutions to large commercial and industrial customers, and we have put in place a dedicated and specialized team to develop this market segment. Glow is delighted to reinforce the existing global relationship between ENGIE and Continental through this rooftop solar project, which is the first cooperation between the groups in Thailand”.

Dr. Patrick Schmitt, General Manager of Continental Automotive (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said: “For Continental Automotive, this project will significantly contribute to our ambitions to become a "Green Plant", to reduce our carbon footprint, and as well to stay competitive.”
